UNDERSTANDING OPTIONS

Different kinds of care. Different questions.

Learn the basic language used by providers so your next conversation feels less unfamiliar.

Residential and inpatient care

These programs generally involve staying at a treatment location. The clinical services, staffing and setting can differ significantly. Ask each provider to explain what its terms mean and what support is available at that specific location.

Outpatient and virtual services

Outpatient programs allow people to receive care without living at the facility. Schedules and intensity vary. Some organizations also offer virtual services, subject to location, eligibility and service availability. Ask which options apply where you live.

A qualified assessment comes first

A licensed clinician can evaluate your needs and discuss the appropriate level of care. A search filter cannot do that. Medical detox is a clinical service; contact a healthcare professional about withdrawal concerns rather than trying to manage them through this website.
